Where?
SPRUCY is about 60 miles east north east of Portland, Maine, about 7 miles south of Rockland, Maine and about 45 feet north of Seal Harbor. As the chart and photographs show, we are surrounded by islands, coves, bays and the open ocean.
Directions

By ROAD from the SOUTHWEST:
Route I-95 to Portland, Maine getting on route I-295 north and going to exit number 28 towards US-1 / COASTAL ROUTE / BRUNSWICK / BATH. Follow Route 1 north to the Mid-Coast Region, continuing past Bath, Wiscasset, Waldoboro and Thomaston until the 2nd traffic light in Rockland. At that light Route 1 turns left (north) but you will turn right (south) onto Route 73. Stay on 73 south for about 3 plus miles to the bridge that crosses the Weskeag River and continue south on Route 73 for about another 3 miles to a left turn on Island Road towards the William Atwood Lobster Co. Go over the two small bridges to Spruce Head Island, then turn right at the first and only stop sign, go a few hundred yards down the hill and past Atwood's Lobsters to our cottage Sprucy at 295 Island Road on the right, facing the bay and harbor.

By ROAD from the NORTHEAST: Route One South to Rockland, then proceed south on Route 73 as above.

By AIR: Fly to Portland Maine (PWM) which is about 1 hour and a half away and then rent a car, get to route 295 north and proceed as above. Or, better yet, fly right into the Knox County Regional jetport (RKD) in Owl's Head, the neighboring village that is about 15 minutes away, rent a car and head south on Route 73 as above.

PS Google Earth puts 295 Island Road in the wrong location. Sprucy is located at the tip of the arrow above. We are far enough from Atwood's Lobsters to be peaceful and close enough to stroll to for wholesale lobsters.
Got a boat? Take full advantage of the spectacular cruising waters and nearby islands. There are launching ramps in our area and trailer parking and moorings available for rent. You will have to be careful of the 10 foot tides and possibility of fog but the prudent mariner will find some of the best cruising waters in the world.
